This brick-fronted restaurant and nightclub in Southeast Portland has a stage for performers, a shimmering disco ball, and rows of artistic panels that dangle down the side of blue walls. The interior also includes a 13-seat bar, couch-filled lounge, and high-top tables, all overlooking Crush’s stage, which frequently hosts burlesque performances. Popular items on the eclectic Mediterranean-influenced menu include “flat” nachos with local Tillamook white cheddar, mozzarella and vegan chili; falafel with vegetables and tahini on house-made bread; and the free-range beef burger. Crush has Monday night specials for restaurant and bar industry workers, and Thursday brings Margarita Night to the masses.

Crush resides in Portland’s Buckman neighborhood, named for 19th Century orchardist Cyrus Buckman. A community garden under a mile from Crush, at SE 18th Avenue and Oak Street, bears his name.
