First Fridays Art Walk, Phoenix
Phoenix Art Museum
Phoenix, AZ, 85004, United States
On the first Friday evening of every month, Artlink, Inc., a nonprofit organization run wholly by volunteer art enthusiasts, hosts a free self-guided tour of galleries, studios, and shops in the downtown area. Established in 1994, this event is now the largest monthly art walk in the country, drawing crowds of up to 20,000 participants. An average of 100 art-related venues take part in the event, while the streets outside fill with fire breathers, dancers, musicians, and vendors. Maps are available on Artlink’s WordPress site, and free shuttles pick up participants from the Phoenix Art Museum.
Insider Tip:
If you’re interested in the lively street experience, head to Roosevelt Row; if you’re more focused on the gallery art, try calmer Grand Avenue.
