Also called the Arrondissement des Gobelins (District of Goblins), this Left Bank neighborhood is home to the Manufacture des Gobelins, which was named the royal tapestry manufacturer in 1662. The district is best known, however, as the site of Paris's Chinatown, which contains Asian restaurants, grocery stores, and Les Olympiades shopping center. The arrondissement also features the village-like Butte aux Cailles neighborhood, where cobblestoned streets are lined with independent shops; the Square Réné le Gall, a quiet park with rose gardens; and the all-glass Bibliothèque Nationale de France (National Library of France), which has four towers resembling open books.
