Le Traiteur Marocain
Marché des Enfants Rouges
Paris, 75003, France
For a taste of authentic Moroccan cuisine inside the oldest covered market in Paris, visit Le Traiteur Marocain, a take-away café (with a few eat-in tables) in the Marais’ Le Marché de Enfants Rouges. Named for the uniforms worn by children in the orphanage that once stood here, the now-rebuilt market has been in business since 1615. Le Traiteur Marocian occupies a small niche, but with its vibrant blue Moroccan-tiled tables, colorful tagines, and clay plates heaping with traditional favorites such as vegetable or chicken couscous, it’s a feast for the eyes and palette.
Insider Tip:
While at the market, linger over the stalls selling local wine, cheese, produce, and fresh flowers, an essential Parisian experience.
