Palermo Viejo

Tres de Febrero Park

Avenida Adolfo Berro
Between Avenida Sarmiento and Avenida Casares
Buenos Aires, Argentina
TEL: 54 11 4800-1135

Built in 1914 (and temporarily closed until December 2008), this beautiful park—with its Rosedal rose garden and a delicate white wooden bridge crossing a figure-eight lake—serves as ground zero for sun-loving Argentines on weekend strolls. It’s the perfect location for people-watching, whether from a rented pedal boat, the mile-long running track that circles the garden, or the small but lovely Museo Sívori art museum (www.museosivori.org.ar). In the warmer months, the park often hosts free weekend concerts.

Insider Tip: As beautiful as it is by day, it’s best to avoid the park after dark, when it becomes a gathering point for the city’s transvestite prostitutes.
