Spondi
Inventive modern French food with a Greek twist earned Spondi its second Michelin star in 2008. The three-story Neoclassical restaurant serves dishes such as an appetizer of sea bass tartare with herring caviar and oyster sorbet, an entrée of roast lamb with candied lemon, pineapple, and coriander, and for dessert, a velvety chocolate ganache cake with tonka-bean ice cream. The food is legendary (and so are the prices) but this turn-of-the-last-century mansion also merits a visit for its creative restoration and its location near the Panathenaic Stadium, which housed the first modern Olympic games in 1896.
