The Home Counties
Olde Bell Inn Restaurant
Hurley, England, SL6 5LX, United Kingdom
Set in the historic coaching inn of the same name, this restaurant takes “locally sourced” in earnest: executive chef Warren Geraghty’s garden is the source for at least half of the ingredients used. Long wooden tables, tall patterned booths, and exposed beams set the tone inside, while garden seating is available outdoors. The menus are always changing; for example, summer is the time for dishes cooked in the rotisserie or kamado ovens. The two- or three-course prix fixe lunch includes such starters as red pepper and goat cheese tart, and main dishes like shepherd’s pie or roasted sea bream with red onion.
Insider Tip:
Take some time after dinner to walk along the Thames. Hurley has ample opportunities for exploring England’s most famous river.
