Merchandise is king in Orlando, and Disney’s parks feature an almost infinite amount of opportunities to part with your money for branded goods, be it a simple pair of plastic mouse ears or a much-sought-after piece of memorabilia that isn’t available anywhere else. Set your limits before you go and try and be disciplined, no matter how alluring the bells and whistles are once you get there. For straight-up retail action, the Florida Mall looms large with its 250 outlets, and smaller designer troves are dotted around the city. More charming still are the village atmospheres of Winter Park and Ivanhoe Village, both of which provide a day out that can encompass much more than just shopping.
