108 Prins Hendrikkade, Amsterdam, 1011 AK, Netherlands

Shipping magnates once planned the routes of ocean liners in this Red Light district building; now, the old “Shipping House" houses this five-star location with 165 rooms and suites along the canals. Stained glass windows surround a staircase and allow natural light to stream into this Art Nouveau-style interior. From the basic Guest Room to the three-floor Tower Suite, the accommodations are decorated in red and orange tones with wood accents like heavy paneling. The Seven Seas restaurant is open for dinner only, and the Council Chamber seats up to 22 for a meeting.
