El Alcazar

With its exquisite collection of oil paintings and furniture spanning a variety of periods, El Alcazar is one of the best sources for antiques in the Caribbean. A recent visit turned up a 19th-century wrought-iron gate from the old Academia Catholica in Old Town and a three-foot, 18th-century mahogany coffee mortar, as well as a slew of decorative pieces from Europe and Asia. A series of surrounding warehouses has been turned into a second store.
