The Moremi Wildlife Reserve—an 1,880-square-mile national park in the heart of the Okavango Delta—provides the dramatic setting for this luxury tented camp. The 15 spacious teak-floored tents, outfitted with canopy beds, en suite baths, and air-conditioning, all have expansive private viewing platforms overlooking the Khwai River—where the Big Five gather to drink. But since the property isn’t fenced, you may also see elephants and hippos wandering right past your porch hammock (the proximity to wildlife means that, for safety’s sake, you’ll need to be escorted to your tent after dark). Since Moremi is a national park rather than a private preserve, you’ll have to share your animal viewing with other safari-goers—but you can always opt to book a private game drive.
