Uncle George Fish Net Grill
Every Friday, hundreds of locals and tourists head to the Oistins Fish Market for the weekly fish fry, an evening of music, dancing, art, and local seafood. Uncle George Fish Net Grill is among the most popular food stalls at the market, selling grilled-to-order seafood such as swordfish, tuna, marlin, shrimp, and flying fish (a Barbadian staple). The generously portioned dishes are served with a salad, baked potato, and homemade tartar sauce, all boxed up in plastic foam containers and paired with a bottle of local Banks beer. Seating is limited to wooden picnic tables set up along the roadside.
Insider Tip:
The stall starts selling food around 7 p.m., but it’s best to arrive early to avoid a long wait (and to catch a glimpse of the sunset from the pier).
