Set in a wonderfully restored Victorian mansion on the eastern outskirts of Ocho Rios, this is the north shore’s top place for both fine art and local crafts. Founded in 1981 by owners Annabella and Peter Proudlock and local artist Graham Davis, it’s the only gallery outside Kingston that hosts regular show openings, which offer a chance to meet established sculptors and painters. Among the selections on display are the cedar root, Giacometti-like carvings from self-taught Rastafarian artist Zacchaeus Powell; London-based Zoe Hope’s modern-and-minimalist textiles; and the abstract oils and sculptures of Kenyan-born Mazola wa Mwashigadi.
