123 Teşvikiye Caddesi, Sofa Hotel, Istanbul, , Turkey

Designed by Mahmut Anlar, Istanbul’s hottest restaurateur, this low-lit, sexy, and (yes) long-tabled space is festooned with whimsical bric-a-brac—including a flock of stuffed sheep, vintage Playboy posters, and a glowing white faux-porcelain grand piano. Though the live music here tends toward the anodyne—Whitney Houston covers, for example—it’s more than made up for by the fabulous terrace with its hanging garden (a major city hot spot in summer). The cocktails, though pricey, are truly creative; try the signature saffron martini (made with Absolut vanilla, lychee liquor, saffron, and cinnamon syrup).
