Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club
A vacation visit to a shuffleboard club in St. Petersburg, Florida, inspired the husband-and-wife team behind Royal Palms to open their own back in Brooklyn. The aesthetic is best described as Floridian vintage, anchored by rows of shuffleboard courts spanning the center of the 17,000 square foot space, but make no mistake: This is not your Nana's weekend hang spot. Courts are first-come, first-served, but black-and-white-striped cabanas can be reserved for group gatherings, and there are plenty of games and activities (giant Jenga and a photo booth are house favorites) to keep you entertained while you wait. The cocktail menu has a tropical vibe—the kegged and barrel-aged cocktails are particularly stellar—and a drive-up food truck window keeps guests well-fed with a rotating selection of local eats.
