The fresh blueberry mojito is the specialty at this strangely furnished bar in the Upper Magazine historic district. Inside the small, dim space, crosses hang from the hammered tin ceiling, while church pews surround the pool table. In addition to its Catholic-inspired design, St. Joe’s is often decked out in extravagant seasonal decorations (Halloween cobwebs look especially authentic). Highlights also include the eclectic jukebox filled with reliable crowd-pleasers and the covered back patio, adorned with red Chinese lanterns, Buddha fountains, and candles. The not-too-sweet mojitos are the indisputable favorite here, but the Pimm’s Cup is excellent, as well.
