There's not much disguising the nature of this Mid City restaurant given the name, a contemporary Cajun celebration of carnivores that has gained nationwide acclaim (James Beard nominations in 2014 and 2015). Isaac and Amanda Toups' menu lurches between the esoteric (veal sweetbead poutine) and the prosaic (lamb neck), but the variety on offer and the delight with which it is presented makes for an enjoyable eating experience. The dining room is as straightforward as the philosophy, and even old standards such as sausages and charcuterie boards are delivered with imagination and integrity.
