Mandina’s

3800 Canal St.
New Orleans, LA, 70119, United States
TEL: (504) 482-9179

A Mid-City neighborhood favorite, Mandina’s has been a local tradition and run by the same family since 1932. Open daily, this family-friendly eatery on Canal Street serves up both Louisiana and Italian favorites. Specials by Chef Isadore include the trout almandine and grilled shrimp served over pasta bordelaise, but the menu also includes such dishes as veal parmesan and spaghetti, fried catfish, and French fried poboy and brown gravy. After hurricane Katrina, current owner Cindy Mandina and her staff returned the restaurant to its original 1930s appearance with warm colors and woodwork throughout.

Insider Tip:

The Thursday special bruccialone (veal rolled and stuffed with spinach, egg, and seasoning) is quite popular and often sells out quickly. Get there early to make sure it's still available.
