Staetshuys Antiquairs

45A Nieuwe Spiegelstraat,

In the oldest part of Amsterdam, Staetshuys Antiquairs houses one of the world’s best collections of antique barometers, clocks, curios, and nautical and scientific instruments going back 300 years. Highlights include a 1908 planetarium, 19th-century lacquered-brass telescope, and 1860 French camera Lucinda—all laid out like a Victorian aristocrat’s private study, with heavy oak desks, leather chairs, and hand-woven rugs on wood floors. Don’t forget to look up and browse the impressive collection of model planes hanging from the ceiling.
