There are plenty of music-themed things to do in Nashville—the Country Music Hall of Fame, a backstage tour of the Ryman Auditorium, and the Historic RCA Studio B are not to be missed. Those looking to immerse themselves in Nashville’s music scene should head down to Music Row, which is located just southwest of the downtown area. It's home to recording studios and offices for both major labels and independent record companies. The area is also home to the Country Music Hall of Fame, which has inducted country music greats like George Strait, the Everly Brothers, and Tennessee native Dolly Parton. To listen to local musicians, head to venues like the more than 30-year-old Bluebird Cafe, an intimate 90-seat venue where many a famous musician has performed, or the Listening Room, which is pretty much guaranteed to have a great concert every night of the week.

For those looking for nature activities, the city is also rife with green spaces such as Percy Warner, Centennial Park, Radnor Lake, and the Bicentennial Capitol Mall. You don’t need to be a horticulturist to appreciate the beauty of Cheekwood’s lush 55-acre estate; the views of the well-manicured lawns and mansions of Belle Meade on the way to the botanical gardens alone make the drive out worth it. Cheekwood has its own permanent art museum, and downtown the Frist Center for the Visual Arts hosts some of the most impressive traveling exhibitions, like the recent Treasures from the House of Alba, to make the rounds in the United States.
