Munich International Airport
Munich, 85356, Germany
Located 30 minutes northeast of downtown, Munich International is among the busiest airports in Europe and serves as a major hub for Lufthansa and Star Alliance airlines. Opened in 1992, the domed glass-and-steel structure contains two terminals connected by the Munich Airport Center, a public shopping and recreation area. Additional amenities include a spa, an Audi showroom, a seasonal ice-skating rink, and an expansive visitors’ park, which contains a miniature golf course and a hilltop-viewing platform overlooking the runways. Dining options range from the Asian-inspired Seafood Sylt to Airbräu, a Bavarian brewery with its own outdoor beer garden.
Insider Tip:
Keep in mind that if you venture into the Munich Airport Center, you’ll have to pass through security again before reentering the terminals.
