Monti + the Celio

Via Capo d'Africa 47
Rome, 00184, Italy
TEL: 39 06 7045-0615

A seasoned clientele makes this their home away from home when in Rome for diplomatic duties or a getaway with the kids. Just up the street from the Colosseum and a few blocks from lovely Villa Celimontana park (a boon for families), the Lancelot has spare, antique décor, 62 bright and immaculate rooms, and a wonderful lived-in feel. Even the standard doubles are exceptionally spacious; the triples and suites are great for longer stays; and the entire property has Wi-Fi. The lobby is a series of comfortable lounges that feel like someone’s home, and invite guest interaction. The Lancelot’s warm staff is just as diverse and multilingual, and their collective experience as international citizens of Rome is an invaluable resource for those staying here.

Room to Book:

Room to Book: The sixth-floor Wedding Suite (room no. 60) has a private terrace with a gorgeous view over the Colosseum. It’s the only suite in the house, so book well in advance.

Insider Tip:

Insider Tip: This is one of few Roman hotels that still offer the “full-board” option: the old-fashioned European tradition of paying a nightly supplement to eat dinner in the hotel’s dining room. It’s a great way to meet fellow travelers, and the kitchen can accommodate requests of vegetarians and fussy-eating children.
