Restaurants in Montego Bay
A great place to stop for a roadside snack, the Yam Centre is located west of Mandeville on Route A2. Built atop a small hill, the centre is a collection of 12 tiny food stalls with names like Graney Razor One Stop and Shine Head One Stop (owned by a bald man).
Made almost entirely of driftwood, the thatched-roof Pelican Bar is set on stilts on a small sandbar about half a mile offshore in Parotee Bay. Part bar and part restaurant, the circular structure is accessible only by boat and is furnished with low wooden benches and windmill-powered lights.
Situated in Montego Bay, this casual outdoor eatery is widely considered the best place on the island for authentic jerk pork and chicken.
Chef Martin Maginley abides by the motto "Grow what you eat and eat what you grow." Fittingly, the theme of his weekly banquet is 100 percent local food.
