Hotels in Mitte

Berlin’s first boutique hotel sits in what proprietor Tini Countess Rothkirch says is “the most beautiful spot in the city”—directly across from Gendarmenmarkt square.

What began in 2008 as an “art lab” in a palatial (but condemned) 1825-vintage residential building has evolved into a livable museum-cum-hotel near Berlin’s government district.

A rather humdrum façade belies the sumptuous interiors at the Regent—which is just steps from Gendarmenmarkt square (and which was a Four Seasons property until 2004).
