Midtown East

Aburiya Kinnosuke

213 E. 45th St.
New York, NY, 10017, United States
TEL: (212) 867-5454

Inspired by traditional Japanese izakayas (after-work drinking establishments), this Midtown East restaurant specializes in fresh sashimi as well as robata-style cooking on a charcoal grill. Seating is available in secluded, curtained nooks as well as at the counter, which overlooks the grill area. There, chefs prepare more than 100 menu items over the heat of a special, low-smoke Japanese charcoal. In addition to robata favorites like the grilled chicken and homemade tofu, Aburiya Kinnosuke also offers an impressive beer and sake selection and interesting desserts, such as green tea tiramisu.

Insider Tip:

The rice pot dishes, such as ginger and pork rice, take 40 minutes to prepare but are well worth the wait—the long simmering process results in particularly bold flavors.
