Miami Book Fair International
Though it's best known for its sun, sand, and bronzed bodies, Miami is also home to one of the nation's premier literary festivals—though in true Miami style, its self-described as an "eight-day literary party." Founded in 1984, the Miami Book Fair International attracts hundreds of thousands of attendees who flock to the city to partake in readings, seminars, and signing events. The highlight of the event is its Street Fair, where more than 250 publishers hawk their literary wares (both known and as-yet-undiscovered) and the Festival of Authors invites nearly 500 writers to share their work. Pulitzer Prize winners abound.
