Secret or underground

That a taqueria would have an impressive supply of tequila on hand is hardly surprising. That a taqueria would hide a tequila bar just a few steps past its bathrooms isn't something you find every day. But that's exactly what the Mexican cuisine-minded maestros at Wynwood's Coyo Taco have done. What the bar lacks in an official name, it more than makes up for in atmosphere: the space, with its warm wooden walls and sleek tiled floors, is small but welcoming. The focal point is the bar, which runs the length of the room and is flanked by couches and banquettes, plus a DJ booth. To access the bar, make your way to the back of the restaurant—out of the dining room and past the bathrooms—or simply proceed to the back door. Next, choose from one of 50 tequilas or mezcals or pick a handcrafted cocktail. Sip, enjoy, repeat.
