The Miami Museum of Science and Planetarium leaves its young patrons (and their parents) wide-eyed with its vast array of hands-on exhibits. Start your visit with “Moving Things,” where you can experiment with the science of movement and even try to solve the rush hour problem using a traffic simulator. Other family-friendly stops include "Sea Lab," a 3000-gallon touch tank, and the Miami Planetarium, which features an observatory with two powerful Meade telescopes. After a visiting the museum, enjoy a stroll or picnic on the sprawling front lawn. The museum's new facility, made possible by a $35 million grant from Dr. Phillip Frost, is scheduled to open in 2014 and will be located on the 40-acre Museum Park downtown, beside the new Miami Art Museum.
