Things to do in Miami Beach
There are plenty of things to do in Miami Beach if you came here to party, but there is also gorgeous scenery if you prefer that pace or just want to know what to do in Miami Beach before the club scene cranks up. For a mellow beach–and perfect sunset—head to South Pointe. If you don’t want the “see and be seen” sands of South Beach (where clothing is definitely optional), there’s a great public beach at South Pointe Park on the southern tip of the island. Hang around long enough to watch the sunset at South Pointe: it’s the most spectacular view in town. Stroll the boardwalk at 35th St & Collins Avenue. You won’t find ticky-tacky tourist stands or food vendors along this wooden walkway, set among native plants and trees; instead, you’ll just find the beauty of the local, tropical nature.
Wander the Miami Beach Botanical Garden for beautiful, manicured trails. Every Wednesday brings “The Garden Market”, where you can purchase freshly made baked goods, cheeses, and produce. Explore the historic Art Deco district, with its architectural landscape of pastel colors and funky architecture. And if you’re wondering what to do in Miami Beach when it rains, check out The Bass Museum of Art, also in the Art Deco district, which houses more than 3,000 works from around the world.
