Oscar Wilde 9
Virgilio Vemilio Castelar
Mexico City, 11560, Mexico
Oscar Wilde 9 may be one of the most flavorful restaurants in Mexico City. Tucked between a salon and a dry cleaner along charming Oscar Wilde Street in the Polanco colonia (neighborhood), the restaurant is barely noticeable with its small black awning and picture window. The sparsely decorated dining room has only six tables, and the menu changes daily to showcase both Mexican and Mediterranean Basin cuisines. For example, try the poblano chiles stuffed with cheese and beans or an Italian-style pasta dish. Don’t miss the warm-from-the-oven Madeleine cookies with ice cream and seasonal jam for dessert.
Insider Tip:
Unfortunately, this lunch-only restaurant has no liquor license, so head a couple doors down to Vinomio for pre- or post-lunch wine or spirits.
