This chic, 59-room boutique hotel, once a tea store and billiard hall, is named for champion Australian pool player Walter Lindrum. Today, vestiges of its origins can be found in the hotel's lounge, where guests play billiards on a restored table and Lindrum's memorabilia is on display. The classy, subdued hotel sits very close to the Melbourne Cricket Ground and other sporting facilities; its rooms were refurbished by renowned architect firm Bates Smart in 2015 and feature soothing, neutral tones, photographs of the city, and king-size beds. For those exploring Melbourne's gourmet offerings, some of the city's best restaurants, including Gazi, The Press Club and Cumulus Inc, are just steps away.
