Inside the Connaught hotel, distinguished chef Hélène Darroze’s second restaurant serves French haute cuisine. Designed by India Mahdavi, the interior features Edwardian wood-paneling and gold furniture. Chef of two Michelin-starred restaurants, Darroze has created an authentic regional menu with seasonal touches inspired by her native Landes region of southwest France. Highlights include the pink-roasted and flambéed grouse from Yorkshire, angus Aberdeen beef, and roasted, corn-fed chicken breast stuffed with girolles. The cheese platter includes the quality picks of Bernard Anthony of Alsace, while pastry chef Pierre Hermé (French Vogue's "Picasso of Pastry") is responsible for the well-balanced petits fours.

Insider Tip:

Darroze, who became a chef in 1990 after working with Alain Ducasse, shares her mentor's love of Carnaroli Acquerello rice for risotto.
