Established in 1910, the Hasegawa General Store, a sundry shop, is one of the oldest family-owned businesses in Maui. The small store has survived both a fire and the never-ending challenge of transporting supplies on the winding road to Hana. After the original site burned down in 1990, the owners relocated to the tin-roofed Old Hana Theater. Narrow aisles are stocked with everything from fishing gear to baby food. Local items, like coffee, macadamia nuts, poi (mashed taro root), and coconut candy, have a “Uniquely Hana” label.
