Westin Ka‘anapali Ocean Resort Villas

For a sprawling resort, the Westin Ka’anapali manages to exude calm. This is in part due to the lone (though large) pool—a marked contrast to the aqua-playground of sister property the Westin Maui Resort & Spa. The Ka’anapali’s location adds to the serenity: It's a few yards from a blissfully underused stretch of one the best beaches in Hawaii. While the resort's open air lobby has a few touches of characteristic Oceania decor, furnishings in the large studio and one-bedroom units tend toward neutral tones. All accommodations come with Heavenly beds and fully-equipped marble top kitchens, which can be stocked from an on-site general store. For activities, two golf courses are within a few minutes drive, and the north side of Ka’anapali Beach has superlative snorkeling, with the possibility of going eye to eye with sea turtles near reefs right off the shore.
