Waianapanapa State Park
Hana, Maui, HI, 96713, United States
The Waianapanapa beach is part of a 120-acre state park near Hana, in east Maui. The beach is made of smooth black lava pebbles and is surrounded by lava cliffs that are topped with lush, tropical foliage. During calmer weather, the beach is a good place for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. Other attractions in the park include sea stacks, the Waiomao caves and lava tubes, a natural sea arch, blow holes, anchialine pools, a seabird colony, and the largest known Hawaiian temple. Follow the footpath of ancient Maui royalty over barren lava and past stands of hala screwpine trees.
