Torrisi Italian Specialties

250 Mulberry St.
New York, NY, 10012, United States
TEL: (212) 965-0955

Dinner at Torrisi Italian Specialties represents some of the best Italian dining in the Nolita neighborhood, and for those who know Mulberry Street, that's saying quite a lot. Less upscale and stuffy, Torrisi serves a meal more akin to a family Sunday supper replete with six courses. One wouldn't be surprised to see a Sicilian matriarch brandishing a wooden spoon over the gargantuan portions. As an eighteen-seat venue, it can range from intimate to bursting at the seams, and as an almost conscious invective against Americanized Italian fine dining, the decor is deliberately dingy (think cans of Progresso bread crumbs and hanging salami in the window.) The no-frills atmosphere beliesto say the leastthe high quality of the cuisine.

Insider Tip:

Anything chicken parm (from the dinner dish to the sandwich) is a must-order.
