Artisan sandwiches are pre-wrapped and ready to go at this duo of sustainable Battery Park kiosks. Founded by Kevin Pomplun, previously of Thor, and Will Goldfarb, formerly of Room 4 Dessert, the sandwich stand uses ingredients sourced mainly from small farms and local businesses, and all packaging is made with biodegradable materials. Among the menu options are the smoked chicken salad on sourdough and the Caprese made with balsamic, basil, local tomatoes, and mozzarella. Picnick also offers a small selection of beer, wine, and specialty cocktails like the Spanish Bloody Mary, a combination of beer, tomato juice, Tabasco, “and love.”
