Fanelli Café on Prince Street has been a SoHo tradition since 1922—a cozy corner spot with a simple, black street-level facade and English ivy vines that reach up to red brick walls of the floors above. The interior space looks to have changed only slightly since the 20’s, with its pressed-tin ceiling, crown molding, gorgeous dark-stained bar with hand-carved wood, mirrors, and shelves of bottles, and wooden tables covered with red-and-white checkered tablecloths. Beers on tap include "hometown" numbers from Brooklyn Brewery, which pair surprisingly well with popular pub-style eats like the chicken club and veggie burger.
Fanelli is frequented by folks who work and live in SoHo, and while tourists are welcome, it's the regulars who get treated like royalty.
