The first certified organic coffee shop in Manhattan, Jack’s Stir Brew is now a small local chain known for its patented brewer, which stirs the coffee grinds while it brews to create a rich, consistent flavor. At this flagship location in the West Village, the tiny space has just a handful of tables surrounded by exposed brick, a huge front picture window, and walls lined with framed photos of local residents. In addition to regular coffee and specialty drinks like the Happy Jack—a honey latte sprinkled with cinnamon—the shop also sells fresh sandwiches, bagels, and popular homemade Oreos.
