Heckscher Softball Fields
at W. 64th St.
New York, NY, 10065, United States
Located at 63rd Street in New York City’s Central Park, the Heckscher softball fields are perfect for a game of baseball or softball. The six fields are named after former park commissioner August Heckscher who served for six years beginning in 1967. A 2006 renovation sponsored by the Central Park Conservancy brought a number of improvements to the fields, including natural turf outfields, clay infields and irrigation systems. Be advised that the fields may close due to maintenance or inclement weather, so check in advance before planning a game.
Insider Tip:
Permits are required to play on the fields and are available to leagues, teams and groups.
