Founded by Paolo DeRobertis in 1904, the tradition of DeRobertis is maintained today by his grandchildren. According to the New York Times, to enter DeRobertis is to “enter the Italian immigrant experience of the early 20^th Century.” With its traditional feel and delicious pastries, DeRobertis has drawn dozens of celebrities and has even been featured in some movie scenes. The vast menu includes homey favorites like brownies and cookies to more fancy delicacies like apple strudel and cassatine palermitano.
