Caramelos Paco
Madrid, 28005, Spain
TEL: 34-91-354-0670
The windows are filled with candy and shaded under a wide, striped awning at Caramelos Paco, which opened as a grocery shop in 1934. Two years on, owner D. Francisco Moreno Redondo started specializing in chocolates and candies. Among the selection, visitors can find rare flavors like pine nut, rosemary, and calimocho—a typical Spanish drink mixed from Coca Cola and red wine. Other treats are suitable for diabetics, gluten-free, or sweetened with honey. The store’s more unique items include soccer-ball-sized lollipops, dolls made from marshmallows, and meter-long lengths of black licorice.
Insider Tip:
It’s a five-minute walk to Teatro Pavón, where the National Classical Theatre Company performs.
