Los Cabos is a hotel-lover’s paradise, and the recent post-hurricane growth has added at least a dozen new spots. The best properties are large resorts with everything you could dream of—pool, spa, golf, restaurants, even butlers in some cases. Some of the marquee names include One&Only Palmilla, with its restaurants run by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and Las Ventanas al Paraíso, where stunning pools snake through the landscape. And that’s not all. Newcomers like JW Marriott and The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, are making waves. On the horizon: Look for luxury properties from Park Hyatt, Montage, Four Seasons, and more.

Serious boutique contenders include Hotel El Ganzo, a rock-and-roll spot where Slash from Guns N’ Roses has been known to do impromptu jam sessions. And while there are myriad all-inclusive resorts in Los Cabos, only a few are worth noting, like high-style sister hotels Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa and Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach.

Most hotels are scattered along the Tourist Corridor, with its atmospheric views of the coastline. If you prefer to be social, position yourself closer to Cabo San Lucas. If shopping and gallery hopping are more your thing, head in the direction of San José del Cabo. But no matter where you stay, it’s just a 20-mile drive between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, so you’re not that far from anything.
