Chef Ori Menashe and his wife, pastry chef Genevieve Gergis, helped put the Arts District on the map when they opened Bestia. Here, the team cures meats for the charcuterie bar (the mortadella and sopressata are excellent), and churns out hand-made pastas. Be sure to order the cavatelli a la norcina—ricotta dumplings tossed with chopped black truffles, spicy pork sausage, and salty grana pardano cheese—with a cocktail by Julian Cox or a glass of lesser-known Italian wine. Always save room for Gergis’ desserts.
