Sake-thirsty patrons come to this West LA eatery for the European, Asian and Californian cuisines served tapas-style. More informal than his flagship restaurant, Shiro, Chef Hideo Yamashiro’s Orris is a smaller place featuring a stainless-steel kitchen, green-tinted dining area, and hip, friendly vibe. Located on a happening stretch of Sawtelle Blvd, Orris feels more straight out of Tokyo than Los Angeles. The restaurant’s tapas includes favorites like albacore lettuce cups, curry shrimp tempura, and the chef's signature shrimp mousse ravioli.
Despite its popularity, Orris doesn’t accept reservations. Head out early if you’re counting on a table on weekend evenings.
