A small red car with the restaurant’s insignia located on the side is kept parked like a beacon in front of this French bistro. Kept open during warm days, a glass-paneled exterior allows a breeze to pass through the intimately-spaced dining room of wood floors, red banquettes, and a tin roof ceiling. Works by local artists, in addition to copies of famous paintings by Van Gogh, assist in brightening the dining room. Items like sautéed escargots, moules frites, and beef bourguignon are highlights of the very traditional bistro menu. An intricate wine list specializes in many lesser-known regions of France.

Insider Tip:

A ten minute walk southwest along Jackson Avenue will lead guests to MoMA PS 1, a satellite version of the Museum of Modern Art, for rotating exhibits.
