Popular with local Francophiles and pre-theater diners, this award-winning Knightsbridge restaurant features a classic French menu with signature dishes like côte de boeuf (prime rib), which is hung for 44 days, and grilled rabbit with mustard sauce and smoked bacon. Filled with little more than dark wooden chairs, white-clothed tables, and a few decorative mirrors, the simple, no-frills space directs attention to the fresh seasonal cuisine paired with selections from the mostly French wine list. The á la carte menu is pricey, but the lunchtime and early dinner (before eight) prix fixe menus are exceptional values, especially for the neighborhood.
The front door opens right into the dining room, so make sure to request a table toward the back if it’s chilly outside.
