The staff outnumbers guests two to one at this small boutique hotel, located behind Buckingham Palace. Resembling an old-fashioned British club, the entrance hall is decorated with mahogany paneling and chandeliers, while the fifth-floor lounge contains wooden bookshelves and antique leather armchairs set beside a working fireplace. The 30 rooms and suites are individually designed, although all have a black and white color scheme that extends from the tiled floors to the Egyptian cotton linens, leopard-print pillows, monogrammed towels, and decorative wall sconces. The glass-roofed executive lounge serves a full breakfast and afternoon tea, as well as free evening snacks.
