Part of the prestigious Tate family of museums, which also includes the Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool and Tate St. Ives, the Tate Britain is without question one of London’s most famous and acclaimed art museums. As Britain’s national gallery of art, the Tate Britain displays pieces dating from 1500 to the present day. Highlights include portraiture from the age of Queen Elizabeth I, as well as spaces dedicated to influential British Romantic artists Blake, Constable and Turner. Free guided tours are available daily that showcase different collection highlights.
If you are visiting on the first Friday of the month, take advantage of Late at Tate, when the museum is open until 10 p.m.
