Xafarix
Opened more than 20 years ago by Portuguese musician Luis Dams, the Xafarix nightclub in Santos continues to offer performances by local musicians. The basement nightclub, with arched, stone-edged doorways, is filled with non-descript tables that surround a tiny stage with a black and white backdrop of a DJ cat. The music ranges from pop to swing and hard rock to bossa nova, and well-known Portuguese entertainers Humberto Dams and Miguel Dias got their starts here. During the warmer months, the live shows may spill out to the outdoor terrace.

Great views of the harbor and the April 25th Bridge can be had from the lookout at the nearby Miradouro de Santa Catarina, also popular with music crowd.
